My work is strongly informed by Stone Carving of the Pacific Rim. I work with simple forms, primarily the disc and the blade. I create blocks/or forms of glass using a wide variety of materials and techniques from Italian Murrine Canes that I make at a Hot Glass Studio, to raw glass colours, formed, cut and arranged. I have a wide collection of glass colours collected over the decades. All the pieces are carved from these blocks /chunks of glass using diamond tools and handworked to the desired form and finish and then placed in stone tumblers to give the pieces a silky smooth matt finish. The pieces can be treated as that of hard stone where the wearer can rub the piece against their skin to take on the bodies natural oils. A small piece of 1200#grit metal/stone sandpaper can be used over time to rebuff the surface from any small scuffs and scratches. A drop of water and a simple rub all over with the paper will be fine
